The dashboard

The dashboard is the car's web page. It shows the car's name, its health, and the strategies it can run.

What you see

Area What it shows
Identity The racer's name and color.
Health chips The state of the robot services.
Vitals Battery voltage and other live readings.
Next lab The next lab to open on this car.
Strategies The cards that drive the car. One strategy runs at a time.
System console The service log, under a fold at the bottom.

Strategies

Card What it does
Teleop You drive with the gamepad. Select it when you want manual control.
RL Policy The trained policy drives. The keeper line is the 12-sector lidar policy with no IMU.

Stop leaves control unowned. Nothing drives until you select a card again.

Settings

The gear icon opens settings. Set these first.

Setting What it does
Robot name Names everything: the Wi-Fi it broadcasts (goat-<name>) and the address you visit. Do this first if two cars are in the room.
Company or school, and team Lap results and everything you build get credited to the team.
Wi-Fi password For the car's own access point. Applies on the next restart. Everyone rejoins with the new one.
Racer color The whole dashboard wears it. You always know which car you are on.
Wi-Fi Network Joins the car to your own network. See Join the car's Wi-Fi.
ROS_DOMAIN_ID (Advanced) Keeps cars from hearing each other. Give every car in the room a different one.

The policy page

The RL Policy card leads to the policy page. It holds the policy library. A policy that arrived over the air shows a NEW badge and its version. The page lets you select a policy, choose the runner mode, and start or stop the runner. See Send a policy to the car.

The labs on the car

The car serves the labs too. When a venue has no usable Wi-Fi, join the car's access point and use the labs from the dashboard. The Train labs need the cloud. Open goatracer.ai when you are back on Wi-Fi.
